Again, higher limits != more death.

sorry cameron but one day youll be the nob spanker that hits a pedestrian

Thought I already made it pretty damn clear there are times and places to act up, and that traffic heavy areas or residential ones were not the place?

Still, seems a pretty solid habit of this forum to ignore things that ...

The law isn't always right. Ever taped anything off TV that isn't the queens annual address? Want to know how many laws you break by doing so?

Try thinking a little for yourself sir.

As has been mentioned previously increased fines may increase the amount of people unable to afford paying them...
How about the ability to work off fines??

How about fines not being raised to such levels with zero justification?

As it is now, it's going to be a much harder choice to stop or not ...

Wow how quickly this degrades. Cameron people are trying to understand your point of view yet you become hostile and don't seem to be able to accept anyone else's point of view.

Said pot to kettle; you are black.

EXACTLY - for a road to be capable of handling higher speeds it would need to meet ...

blah blah blah, rant rant, rave, garbage drivel, etc...

Holy shit, you're full of hate aren't you?

Like people that hit a slick and come off into a tree while doing legal speeds. Like people hit by ignorant, useless drivers and get dragged under their vehicles, but again that doesn't fit your ...

but you think you should be able to do 140kmph.
Under some conditions, sure. I'm most comfortable at about 125 for most of my highway and distance driving though.

Why should other people have to follow the law and not you? These roundabout users may also share a misguided belief that their way ...

Mildly retarded is if you have to spend a few weeks in the Shenton Park Rehabilation Centre.

Again, you're missing the point. I wish I could say that surprises me.

Speeding and dangerous driving are not mutually exclusive concepts.

There are a lot of people in shents that are there through no ...

Well if you ever get in you should rememeber not to book anyone for speeding ;) going on your view :) otherwise that could make you a hypocrite.

And if one of your friends/family were killed by a speeding driver (even though he or she thought it was safe to do so) i dont think you would be dancing ...

You should just suck it up if you hadve got a ticket why waste tax payers money trying to defend something that you obviously would never win.

Obviously never win? Defeatist... ;)

Rules are there for a reason (and yes people do and dont agree with them the powers to be make them so we follow ...

in my opinion stick to the speed limit, then you wont have to worry at all about fines.
In my opinion, the speed limits are now out of whack with current technology and vehicle safety.

With your speed Cameron (being at 40kph over speed limit) you could of been up for a $1000 fine + 7 demerits, 5 ...

I wonder how the "hoons" would feel if they were made to pay for the damage, they cause to the roads when they do burnouts...

No worries, let me know when you want that 40c cheque posted. Rubber doesn't do a great deal of damage to correctly laid tarmacadum last time I tested it.

and on top of ...

That way they cant drive it whilst its locked up at the local holding yard

This is akin to locking up fat peoples cutlery.

Signs like this should become common. Pull off stops have more shade and cover from the road.

Good ideas, something to keep people awake, on the look out rather than just zoning out.

A big problem is the 'invincible' mentality too, or just thinking you'll go another few minutes before stopping ...

Will the higher penalties / longer seizure periods, mean more people will run from Police?

I guarantee it.

What about some real ideas about how and what will work to reduce the road toll!

Driver training.

Look at the finding published by the ORS. Read them, end to end. Take the time to look ...
