I was watching TV the other night and I was flicking through the channels during the ad breaks.
But 7,9 & 10 were all running ads at the same time for the whole hour show.. coincidence? or is it a big conspiracy to make us watch adds? or is it just me...

This follows on from 'Baird's Law' which says "When recording an "off air" transmission, then subsequently fast forwarding or rewinding that recording to find a particular point to replay, you will always stop and play during a commercial break, despite the fact that statistically commercials make up only approximately 20% of transmission time."

If its an off air transmission it must be transmitted without being broadcast ie copying dvds?
Now are you not allowed to record broadcast television due to copyright? Are you allowed to record ads?

Re: Is it just me..
As i understand it copyright relates to re-broadcasting, re-transmitting, public distribution, replay for profit etc. The recording and replaying of television broadcasts in ones home, watched by the householders without charge, is no more than time shifting for convenience, and as such i believe does not breach copyright.Toottoot wrote:Now are you not allowed to record broadcast television due to copyright?
