Here is a selection of pics of the Type 1 water bombing helicoter Helitac 681, taken at Darlington Oval on Monday 28/12/09. The oval is adjacent to Darlington Fire Station and the helicopter was stationed there for rapid deployment during extreme fire conditions. The helicopter is a Sikorsky S61N contracted to FESA from Canadian company VIH.

Although most of the seats have been removed to reduce weight, Helitac 681 can be fitted with 15 seats when required for personnel transport.

No, Darlington support was used for the Darlington reinforcements. Due to availability of water they were filling from dams and other water sources not from collar tanks. One of our members was there today to act as a ground liaison for the landing area. However he used his own vehicle to get there.
