Guys, I was at a South Perth Shopping Centre and whilst walking outside, i saw a lady who had a toddler in her lap driving without a seat belt.

Now - before we turn this into a Britney Spears thing - Should I or anyone supposed to call the Police number 131444 and report this, even though the vehicle was one of those types that you hire from Fuel Stations?????

What would you do????

Take the vehicle info and pass it on to the police.

If the car ploughed into yours the baby could become a projectile and then.... well you can finish the rest.... :?

Thats fine Millsy,

But don't you think it's wrong to drive with an infant/toddler with no seatbelt - that places the babys life in danger??????

But that's saying IF the car hit myn. It's not for me to tell someone how to raise their child. It's clearly there choice if they wish to restrain the child or not. Me saying so isn't going to make them change there mind . Thats not to say i don't agree with the fact taht children should be restrained.

Millsy, I had a baby die in my arms because a 4WD ran red lights and hit the lady infront of me 3 years ago!!!!!!!!!!

The baby was NOT secured in her capsule and died in my arms when we reached Princess Margaret Hospital with SJA and the Police. I found her on the side of the road, cause i stopped to help..... :(

Don't you think we or anyone should be able to report it to Police that someone is driving with an infant in the front or unsecured in there seat!!!!!!!!!!!

Mate I am NOT disagreeing with you!!! I never said anything about approaching the person, just reporting them to Police - cause i think its DAMN dangerous and STUPID

Ofcourse they can do something about it - They can charge the parent I am sure - there is a clause somewhere that says this - Ask Ludacris or one of the other WAPOL guys on here.......

but they didn't witness the baby being un-restrained?

I think i need others to respond to this, cause this is a huge issue on today's roads....Why can't Police charge the parents? If you report something it has to be True - otherwise YOU get charged with False Allegations etc etc......think about it!
