Yeah - it's always interesting to see just how much the bush is reduced to black stumps after a fire - but then how it all comes back again within a reasonably short time.

Yep. A lot of our bush has evolved so that fire is necessary (for germination etc like Balga). Fire is just inconvenient for people unless you like your goanna well done. I watched Bold Park recover after the last fires and it's pretty damned cool watching nature at work

I think they were monitoring it.
668 and 670 are there doing a few spot fires, think it's all out now though.

It will be nice and green in about 4-6 weeks. more if we get a good dose of rain.

What wonderful photos you took. I find it odd that we arein the middle of water restrictions and one of your photos shows water gushing out of a malfunctioning standpipe in the hyrdant and running down the hill. not a dig at you, just at the lack of upkeep of hydrants and stand pipes

Gushing like that, it's probably come loose and with no-one in the vicinity to notice (as they are likely all on the end of the hose?)...

Thank you very much Helitak_670. We are all blaming you for this morning's monsoon downpour at 4am this morning.
