Gidday Brad,
Welcome on Board - Priority One = Pursuit or other TOP priority job - but mainly used for pursuits.
IR = Investigation Report (not 100% sure) - Hope this helps

Yep - P1 is definately "blues and two's" (UK terminology) with very high speed permitted. P2 has a speed limit I think.
IR = Incident Report perhaps?

Nope, never heard of a P1, even an armed hold up is a P2. P1 is when someones life is seriously in danger- i dont think trying to self harm counts. More for robberies, hold ups in which hostages are taken and that sort of thing, chase with a murderer .

I have heard a P1 a couple of times. It was not long ago , (makes me sound old) that there was no Pursuit priority, And all chases got up to P1 .

I would like to bet that the Karratha coppers responding to the shooting call were sent Priority 1. I have visuals of every officer in Karratha racing to the scene.

Couple of the Delta cars got P1 to that shooting in Ziatas rd in Wanneroo last year.

I hardly call 140km/h, very high speed.
cheers
Tom
p.s. Walks takes a P1 when he goes to buy his crib at MacDonald's

Lmao good one Tom
Then again, I wouldn't think Walks would have to get crib when he has all those Minties from Australia Day to eat still...

Apart from amateur radio (i.e. listening with the intention of finding someone to talk to), I use a bit of UHF CB and monitor mostly FESA and Westrail. Not a real VKI scanning fan actually. Most of my scanning is done in the car and here's a pic of the setup:
