Although the media releases are usually well out of date when posted on the WAPOL site I found this one to be most interesting:

I wonder where the unmarked vehicles will be coming from? Any ideas Walks?? A fully marked MIG fleet!!
Although this release is poorly worded it is well worth reading.
I just wish they have more public interaction days such as Mounted Section, traffic, TRG and K9 open days, it's a good way for the public to learn more about our Emergency services.
cheers

I agree that 100 is alot of cars - I'm not sure if the Commisioner is adding to the fleet or "Replacing" cars that have been thrashed too much?
But thankyou for letting me know about the thing with the fords and the Sequential shift - Learn something new everyday.

I was thinking along the lines that any unmarked car in the fleet that's white in colour might become a target for being marked up possibly....
Having more marked cars is a good way to improve police presence although the number of troops might be dwindling.
If you go into the City on a weekday their are a sh*t-load of unamrked cars getting about tho.
cheers

The few times I've been over in Sydney or Melbourne for work or having a bit of a holiday, I've seen marked, coloured police cars - e.g. red, blue, green, yellow, hot pink, etc
Is there any reason why they couldn't or wouldn't do that here I wonder? Other than the fact that the blue/white checks would look a bit odd on a coloured car to a population used to seeing police cars as being only white? I guess there's something to be said for police cars to all look the same ...
