Do Country Fire Stations and Volunteer FB Stations carry such equipment for major road accidents, as in cutting equip and the likes of other specilised equipment do deal with major accidents etc.

My mistake for location, should be in Fesa, have requested it be moved,,jj

Some of the Brigades around (eg Beverley) have the new Holmatro gear - very nice!

Yes, brigades without a CP, HSR and possibly the older GPA style HSRs will have the Rescue Trailer.

Hi All,

The poorer cousins use Lukas cutters and spreaders (jaws of life). Some vol FRS brigades use either combitools (combined cutters and spreaders) and rams. Other brigades have cutters, seperate spreaders and then rams.

Some SES units still do road rescue in the state e.g. Harvey. And some FESA registered private brigades - mostly registered to mining companies etc. Also can be expected to provide road rescue too.

Remember that Hino/Isuzu HSR/GPA pumps and coutry pumpers are relatively new to the FRS, mostly replacing the Mazda light pumps, which had no room for cutter & spreaders. So that's why the Landcruiser LTs would tow a trailer to to the scene. Also the policy used to be that the pump had to stay in town to respond to fire calls - that was years ago.

Bomber,
Pinjarra use the GPA and still tow the trailer, saw them when I was working on a job in Ravenswood a few weeks ago.

The cutting gear in use in the country, is that usually large gear such as the MPHR's in the metro carry or smaller gear?? Anyone know what the SES unit's usually carry? They usually use a trailer. Certainly haven't seen any with the gear in the truck.

No longer a FESA Unit - they're a Volunteer Emergency Service Brigade/Unit.
