The WAPOL in Geraldton are holding an open day on Saturday 16th June from 10.30am to 3pm at the old Supa Value car park behind the Police Station. According to the local paper this is the biggest ever held in WA with over 30 attractions including TRG, Police Helicopter, Crowd Control Gear, K9, Mobile Lockup and Forensic Displays.
Will get some pics and post them over the weekend. Should be a good day.

Polair 61 called to Geradlton Base requesting clear landing area in the carpark due to 160kmh down draft from rotor blades. Geraldton gave ok to land then requested to divert to an overturned boat about 1km off shore... Polair 61 replied, negative are very low on fuel need to land.
Doesnt look like they have very big fuel tanks

The BK117 has a range of around 550km depending on conditions and payload. By the time they got to Gero the fuel level remaining would not have allowed an operationally safe time to conduct any type of SAR mission. I hope the boaties are ok ....and enjoy the open day.

Perth to Gero on 1 tank of fuel doesn't sound too bad... I would expect them to have to refuel after travelling 450km...

Actually Polair 61 has two fuel tanks equalling as Always RX said - range up to 550kms depending on payload(how heavy it is with equipment etc.

Could this have been in relation to the quad bike roll over which claimed the life of a snr constable just north of geraldton?

Apparently he was 37. He went over a 20m drop-off.
