Wow, I can't believe this made news in Australia. I had already read about this incident on a US based Public Safety board I'm a member off.
It is silly.
The NAACP finds the footage "very demeaning, very inappropriate", Arizona chapter of the NAACP president Reverend Oscar Tillman said.
Who the f*ck cares what you think NAACP. It is obvious the individuals involved did NOT find it demeaning or inappropriate. If they had an issue with it and made a complaint, then jump on it and support them. Otherwise STFU!
"If they were two young white college students, I don't think he would have gone in that direction,'' he said.
And if they had a gun he wouldn't have gone that direction either. Every situation is a different and unique situation. He dealt with the situation the way he felt it would end the best.
Policing isn't always about putting someone in jail or giving them a fine. Sometimes doing as he did and building rapport and telling people what they did wrong is enough. I bet you after that incident they had a more positive view of the Police than a negative one as the NAACP would like you to believe.
Tempe Mayor Hugh Hallman condemned the action. "This video is completely inacceptable. I offer an apology to all members of this region,'' he said.
Thanks a$$hat, way to support your Police Officers. Don't bother to wait until it has been investigated fully. Just hang the officer out to dry from the start.
This is a major problem in the US. The "race card" is pulled way to much. Everything has to be turned into being a race issue. Which in turn causes more problems than its fixing.
I'm just glad that (from my short time here so far) the race card issue does not seem to be as big an issue here in Australia as I've seen it in the US.
