Should tazers be tested on old people?

Guys, I think they should test tazers on lowest common denominator demographic groups such as the old and imfirm.
This way we we have a low baseline for understanding the physical results of tazing somebody. I.e., if you can taze an 80 Y/O woman safely then it must be safe to taze an 18 Y/O graffiti vandal.
I really think more research has to be done into non lethal intervention.

Well its exactly like saying, should we use foam batons for 80yr olds and steal batons for 18yr criminals

, it just wont happen, always going to be the same material as always....same as tazers, same as OC Spray. These are only used as a means to subdue a person who is resisting arrest or isnt following orders....
Only My Opinion

I definately think that we should use metal batons on old people. If they resist arrest, then it is the same price to pay as anybody else.
Besides, the logistics of Police Officers having to carry both a foam and metal baton is just impractable. In my opinion anyway.

I was just over exaggeration.
I think the volts are abit high, but its only used for ppl who are disobeying police orders. They deserve it, i think, if they have the means not to obey. Because Coppers dont give stupid orders, they give orders to protect the offender, themselves and others!

A controversial thread topic like this is likely to provoke some extreme reactions. If it does, then the thread will be closed and that'll be the end of it.
Kanye, I sort of understand what you're saying - that it's one less avenue for the 18 year old party yobbo to complain about if it's been shown to be safe. But I'm not sure that having granny-tazing laboratories would get approval somehow...
However - the underlying thing is, if someone is acting in such a way that the use of a tazer, baton, firearm or whatever is necessary, then in most cases they've brought that upon themselves. I'm not a lover of the nanny state and people needing to be tazed shouldn't expect it to be pleasant.

i think its pretty obvious what is goin to happen if u take to an elderly person with a tazer or a baton, and what if they have a pace maker- all i know is that if my grandparents die from being tasered or have their bones broken by a copper with a baton then they can expect to be sued.

Yep. I see different types of abuse in elderly people almost every week. Its sick. Kanye, just because they are old, it doesn't mean that they aren't to be respected any less than you or I. The elderly have served their time in society, paid more than their fair share of taxes and deserve to be treated well. Tasers and batons - WTF? I can't believe this...

I dont think anyone was actually suggesting batons and tazers be used on the elderly
