When listening to police radio I often hear them saying a person has a "generic lockup warning". What does this mean?

Cheers!

Means he/she has been processed through a lock-up and had their photo taken. If there are any other warnings (knife/assault/AIDS/ etc) they will show on NIS subsequently.
