Well the date has been set for turning off the analogue patch.

The count down is on.

Days to go: 19

On the public holiday or the day after may I ask?

Find the earlier post where Analogue will not be turned off, Didgital is only for Jobs to be sent on Tardus to specific officers/cars that they dont want the public to know about, Certain Analogue convo's will continue for many years. there are too many rumers, the above info is a repeat that came from top brass some months ago. stay tuned.

hmmm who to believe, Walks or JJ? Tough question :wink:

Fear not at least the analogue network will stay live in the metro area for when country vehicles travel into Perth. The downside of course is there is no patch so you won't hear any metro vehicles or vehicles on the digital network.

The bringer of bad news...though I suppose it was only a matter of days before someone advised of the date...or it got cut off completely and everyone would be like WTF. Lets see if this date is extended again like the past times :P

Thats the date we have been told and I think it is accurate this time. But if I had a dollar for every time it was supposed to be switched off... I would have about $6.

Apparently it is costing close to $20,000 a month to run the analogue?

Well it finally went digital about 10:15 today. is it worth buying a digital scanner or is it just stuffed now ?

EDIT: I feel for you towies and media personal that don't have a solution to picking up jobs anymore though. I talked to a couple Sat night but forgot to ask how they were going to continue on after today.

yeah VKI said somthing along the lines of this is the final broad cast on analouge all WAPOL radio comms are now digital. then there was silence.
