WARSUG Meet-Up

Post by Zebedee » Wed Feb 15, 2012 10:54 am

Folks,

Every so often, people suggest that we have some sort of "WARSUG Meet-Up" to put faces to names and all that.

The mods and admins (collectively known as the modmin team) have meet-ups every so often, but I think it's been years since we had any kind of general meet.

So ... anyone who's interested, I'm proposing a WARSUG Meet-Up in Northbridge, next Monday evening (20th Feb) at the "City of Lights" event that's being held. Meg posted about it a little while ago in the Amateur Radio section:

http://warsug.info/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=10791

So ... I plan on being there, and there's a few others I think are going to be there too. So anyone else from WARSUG that just wants to catch up and say hi ... feel free to stop by!

I've no idea how to co-ordinate a "place" to meet, so perhaps look for people in either WARSUG or WIA shirts ;)

Amateurs - if you plan on having a handheld with you, how about either the Tic Hill 2m repeater on 146.800, or simplex on 145.450? (And of course, scanner listeners can monitor those frequencies too and it might clue you in as to who's where!)

Isn't 145.450 a simplex Echolink node?

Not that I've ever seen or heard about. Ham College usually uses 145.425 or 145.450 as our preferred frequency when doing Foundation practicals and I've only ever once heard someone else on one of those in the last three or four years.

Managed to catch up with a few people from WARSUG - Meg, Auntys_Eyes, Nafenn and Nosferatu :)

Anyone else go along, that I didn't get to meet?
