The relocation made a difference. My S meter fell off the desk and onto the floor. Will RIB get a mention on the news (or maybe WARG net) ?

Ham College is proud to announce that their Information Beacon, VK6RIB, is set to go live *today* at 10:00am.
The information beacon is a Ham College project, comprising a PC and a transmitter, playing a number of audio files on an hourly loop, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. The beacon computer is connected to the Internet to allow for remote uploads of new or changed content.
VK6RIB is Ham College's Christmas present to the Perth amateur radio community. The beacon will provide the weekly news bulletins, Ham College course and examination information, a section for each of the radio clubs in Perth, and other items relevant to amateur radio.
The beacon will be transmitting from the Perth Hills on 145.575 MHz at 5W. For information on where to send signal reports, please listen to the beacon or check the Ham College website at www.hamcollege.com.au
Remember, the beacon launch is this morning, at 10:00am on 145.575 MHz.
Where are you receiving from CC?ConstableCare wrote:It must be in a very 'ordinary' location in the Hills cause it's gone from a fully quietening signal on the scanner to a signal with some static although you can still hear it ident.
Not sure how it's meant to service the Perth area if it's putting out an average signal to start with?
Cheers, CC
Worked out two so far - WAN's Voice...Zebedee wrote:There's three WARSUG'er voices on there, let's see if we can figure out who and for what
Hear hear - it's pretty much unreadable in Mt Helena which is unusual for the "hills" repeater locations. If I knew what was happening with that 30m tower, I know a great location on a hill up here....VK6FZUK wrote:Cant hear it up here in Chidlow.
Think its time to get the antennas up higher!
