I passed the Foundation license back in 2006 when it was first released. I have been off air for a couple of years and let my license expire but have sent my callsign recommendation form to the WIA and they have processed it and should receive it back early next week. Then I have to apply to ACMA for the license. I should hopefully be back on air within the next few weeks with a new callsign
Looking forward to talking to a few new people that I haven't spoken with before.

Excellent, that generally means the licence issuance is around a week away, give or take a bit.
Unfortunately not. I received the callsign recommendation letter from the WIA, but they had forgotten to put the F in my callsign and had issued me VK6BCM.
Gotta call them tomorrow and then wait for them to mail me out another letter... :/

That's an excellent sign. Means your certificate of proficiency has been done and your callsign recommendation processed to send to ACMA.
ACMA should only take another week or so. They seem to do quite a lot of amateur licence issuing on a Friday from what I've noticed...
