I've spoken to my Area Manager who suggested joining a local BFB would be a good way to get it used.
Next project is to get the TFT branch adaptor.
I'll be sure to do so, if I'm free and available! don't know when it would be though, but would be good. I'll have to come in winter that way there's less chance of it being at a fire when I come, or about to head off to one

Latest update....
* TFT adaptor installed - very difficult job as I didn't want it getting scratched.
* Front mounted Milano strobes have been removed.
* New 4 LED lightheads mounted - 2 front, 2 rear, 1 each on side behind cab.
* New Carson 1012 siren module installed. (Speaker still the same, different driver)
* In-cab control panel for lighting & siren almost complete - just waiting for the paint to dry on rear work-light switch panel.
* New branch for hose reel. (2nd hand Protek 360 - replaced spinning teeth, installed bright blue grip and flow control handles.)
* Tait 2020 remote head shifted to above-head console for easier use & viewing.
* New fuel cans have been purchased.
It was used for educational purposes earlier this year and for protective burns around the College.
Pics later.

Note the LED lightheads at the rear of the cab. Pics taken this evening.
The mounting bracket for the LEDs at the front is an old bit of angle steel painted semi-gloss black. It's been simply bolted in place where the Milano strobes were.

Are those the largish single row LED's that are rocking up on knew LT's?? I haven't had a good look at them, are they dual colour, or do 2 light up red and 2 light up blue??

I got the LEDs from overseas. They consist of 4 Generation III LEDs in a sealed epoxy mount with a cheap plastic shroud. (VERY easy to crack - I know from experience!) At the front are one all red module and one all blue. Same for the rear. The side LEDs are dual colour with 2 blue LEDs and 2 red. (The side ones are an experiment on my behalf to improve the visibility from side-on.) I have no idea what they have on the new LTs.
The young kids like the truck. Mind you, what young kids wouldn't?

I don't know how much added value you'd get behind the doors where you have them but I think if you had them on an angle on the roo bar facing out then at least as you're coming into an intersection they'll get seen a bit better if it's a semi blind intersection. So much like how the pumps are coming out with on the corner of the cabs, or on the side but as far forward as possible.

Well it's only an experiment and on initial observation it's a lot better than what it was. The aim is to improve visibility from the side, not at intersections, and from a distance it seems to do the job nicely. (No smoke to try it with yet.

) The Highlighters on the roof bar were visible from side on but needed some emphasis. The Gen III LEDs are very bright and make the vehicle much more visible. (Another reason is possibly due to the alternating colours.)
Agreed, coming to an intersection something more visible in the forward half would be an advantage but as this isn't appliance isn't going to be travelling on a major carriageway any time soon it's not a problem for me.

well in that case it'll do the job it's meant to do, make your fire truck stick out on the fire ground

Yep, that's the aim.
I ordered a replacement lighthead for the driver's side as the red LEDs were u/s. When they arrived, I got two lightheads. Unfortunately, the replacements were all red and all blue, not the two colour version. I ended up purchasing the replacements. (Less hassle with postage etc and I have my own spares if need be.)
