That's more or less what I was thinking too :) And I'm impressed that I could remember the RTA since I only came to Australia in '79 as a little kid!

(And before anyone jumps in, yeah I'm STILL a little kid  )

They want us to have our L Plates for a minimum of 6 months

Good... some p-platers and fully licenced drivers seem to get their licence from the back of a generic cereal brand packet. I even had a flamin' L-plater rapidly overtake me near Mundaring and I was doing the speed limit. That annoys the cr@p out of me.

The hours will be upped to 125 hrs in the Log Book before being able to take the Hazard Test

Good for experience. Maybe 125 is a little extreme.

P Platers get 4 demerit points insted of the current 12

Good! That will mean the idiot drivers will lose their licence sooner.

P Platers will only be allowed a 1 person under the age of 25 in the car with them on their first year of driving.

Still undecided on this.

P Platers will have a night-time curfew.

Still undecided on this too.

P Platers will not be allowed to drive cars with eight or more cylinders.

No. It should be a power to weight ratio that should be used. Some of the 'rice burners' are more trouble than V8s.

These are my opinions only and yes I know it's post assignment. I only just saw the thread.
