So if someone was getting stabbed or raped you would just mind your own business, you know since it has nothing to do with you....

People,

Ask 5 different people how they would deal with this, and you will probably get 5 different answers.

Mr G, by the sounds of it, is prepared to give a statement and be a witness in court if the need arises.

Millsy on the other hand, believes it is the problem of the parent and should be left to them.

Is there a correct response? Are they all correct? If you saw a kid riding their bike on the road without a helmet, would you call the Police then?

Walks.

Being the proud owner of two new born bubs, seeing that shite makes my blood boil, I would probeb;y call out to the lady and see if i could persuade her to restrain her kids, failing that i would then probebly call the police, becasue like it or not its in thier job description.

Lookout to be kept for, well if that the best they can offer at the time well so be it but at least they willl keep an eye out for it, ask any copper no one likes to see kiddies put in unecesary danger, who is help those who cant help themselves....the concerned people in our community that give a dam thats who and dont just sit and watch these injustices go by.

whether that be phoning the police
Having the guts to say something

all of this so hopefully one day we dont have to see our young hurt and mammed by sheer stupidity.!!!!

and that folks is my two cents

But you didn't say anything about punishment. You only mentioned that you would not act because it had nothing to do with you.

In that scenario the kid is putting himself in danager, not put others in danger. However, with the infant it does not have a choice as it is helpless. The mother is the responsible adult and suppose to look after the infant. She should be reported as she is putting the infant in danger.

but at the end of the day, It's up to the mother.

I agree with pdxn. The mother is placing a child - who is unable to make decisions for himself - in danger. As a responsible member of society, it is up to the public to intervene or at least report it.

What if we were to extend Milly's argument to babies left in cars at, say, the Casino? Should we leave the child there because it's none of our business?

no, that's different again. The mother was in the car with the infant. She made the choice not to restrain the child. The Child left in the car without a parent at the casino is wrong on so many levels. In that instance , i would call the police with no hesitations

But the mother who left their infant in the car also made a choice to leave the infant in the car alone.

No, at the end of the day its up to the laws and the Child Protective Service (or the equivalent here in Australia).

I agree that you should persuade the parents to buckle the kid up and that it is in there best interest and there childs and then thats as far as i would take it. I do not beleive the Police are going to chase up something minor like that because there just isn't enough a time.

At the christmas pagenat i told a lady that was smoking and watching the parade to move over to the other side of the road for the kids sake all i got was abuse

"dont tell me how to raise my f'n kids"she tryed to kick me so i grabbed her and wouldn't let her go she was cutting sick, her husband punched me in the side of the head. i released her and myself and the 8 mates i was with at the time were ready to belt this guy when the cops came and got him. I told the cops to charge him assult they fed me some bullshit story of needing a medical certifcate, even though they witnessed him hitting me. The question is would they charge me if me and my mates beat shit out of him?

The cops got my details and his, luckily i overheard all of his.

anyways, thats my opinion and a little story

pdxn, The Questions was asked to the forum.

As a member of this forum. I have the right to express my opinion on such questions, as i have done. If you don't share the same opinions as i do ... then ... you don't share the same opinions as i do. Nothing more can be done.

So what you are saying here is that you are going to get him at his house.... Nice thing to say on a Public forum................................ Police would take your details and report could be added. It is up to you to go to your local GP or Hospital get get checked over. This is then crucial evidence for police for the charge of assault.... Also could make the difference between a Assault and a A.O.B.H......... Wouldn't you be happier they got the right charge.... Anyway this has gone off track....

Heres my opinion

Like Walks said, there is going to be so many peoples opinions on what to do....

Do you what you feel is comfortable, if you can't sleep at night then dob them in......

Just remember that a traffic complaint can't be taken over the phone, you need to attend your local station and complete one and make a statement.... You then have to sign it saying you are willing to go to court....
