Some Rangers have powers under the fisheries act if the council boundary is bounded by water, but only if Fisheries authorise. Also rangers can book you for speeding if they are trained radar operators under the "contrary to signage" section of local government legislation, but no council is willing to be the first to do it in WA even though three have looked at it. Could explain why so many councils are puting up there own 50km/h signage beside some roads.
