I assume they've sorted the gearing issue with Ford? Isn't that why there are only Holden's in the fleet now, something to do with the tap shift in Fords being opposite and the big wigs worried about too many gear shifts in the wrong direction...

XR6 and XR6T and XR8 all come with the 6 speed auto standard, or 6 speed manual.

sequential sports shift
pretty much just a way to run up the gears at will just like going 1-2-3-d except theres 6 gears

Dont quote me on this but I am pretty sure these "sequential sports shifters" have protection in them - eg it will change by itself eventually and wont go down into a low gear if you going to fast, hence protecting you from destroying the motor/gearbox.
Does anyone know if this is acurate?

I haven't had the opportunity to jam a 'Fraud" auto gear box from 5th into 1st yet to see what happens.
Maybe any 'Fraud' owners could assist here.

Yep this was exactly my question, it was my understanding when the BA came out the "+ and -" were upside

down compared to Holden and the concern was under "p1/p2" conditions the gear stick might be tapped in the wrong direction.
One would certainly assume the car manufacturers wouldn't be that silly to allow this to happen? Perhaps there was really another
Top Secret reason they dropped Ford sedans from the fleet

Hey Walks what do you mean a third gear....I just thought we had one gear "R" that does mean racing doesn't it!. I always thought fuel economy was like the exchange rate, the higher the rate the better off we are.
As for the new toy, the budget ain't got much to do with it. They were going to come on line earlier but it took ages to get a demo model from the blue oval to do the evaluations.
In respect to fuel some of the figure returned by the XR6T make a Holden V8 owner look like a paid up member of the greens. TEG, however, should get some decent mileage, after all Danny how much fuel can you use parked near a booze bus

I've never tried going down through the gears in my BA while travelling at a decent speed, but I do know that if I tell it to be in 4th and go slowly around a roundabout, it will automatically drop down to a more sensible gear.

Hehehe that was a cheap shot Chev....
Besides thats what the booze bus chase cars do....and leave the highly professional TEG officers to conduct traffic patrols.....
