Thanks for the book robbage, had a flick through it when I got home at around 8! Looks pretty good, looking forward to the course. Good meeting you too and seeing what you do and what happens behind the scenes. :p Greatly appreciated!

No not THAT word, and not that OTHER word either...

But, as I wrote elsewhere recently, choosing a callsign is a bit of an art. You've got to be able to say it on air without getting tongue tied. And it's got to be fairly easy for others to understand too... I found that with VK6FZDB - people would mis-hear "dee bee" and cause all kinds of confusion

Use delta and bravo... that should sort it out.

Mind you, hotel and echo are often mistaken for each other on HF.

Yep - six of one half a dozen of the other... You either put up with people not always getting your call the first time if you use "eff zed dee bee", or have it take all afternoon to spit out "foxtrot zulu delta bravo".

Much easier to just change callsigns... The less letters the better hey?

I wasn't suggesting any specific word. Everybody just used their imagination.. not my fault if they all have filthy minds

FART is ok.. it's a proper medical term now, according to Mrs robbage. Good luck getting VK6FART though.

I've heard FIVE, FOXY and FUZY. I've spoken to FRJA a couple times and have to write it down.. hard one to remember.

Of course not

but I'm quite stuck for ideas.
Might also want to think of alternatives if you can't have FLUX unfortunately there are other amateurs out there who might just have had the same brilliant idea!

How things have changed. It use to be how a easy a callsign was in CW that was the important consideration, not so much how easily it rolls off the tongue.
