Hi all,
I've found some frequencies that I believe are a trunk at the airport, but I'm unable to work out how to access them.
The existing analogue trunk is .4875mhz so I've deleted those.. but the rest I'm unsure how to work out which are linked.
My scanner is a Uniden UBCT396TX.

I can't seem to pick up any control channels on any of those frequencies?!?! Maybe someone who lives close to the airport could shed some light. I'm pretty sure the 400MHz frequencies wouldn't be trunked

Have a look here: http://spench.net/rf/ Around the airport area, things like ground ops freqs and so on. Be warned though - Ground ops freqs for airlines tend to use callsigns and codewords (for obvious reasons), so don't expect to be able to tune in and know exactly what's going on.

Link is working for me, however the RFMap is down.
Re: Perth Airport Digital Trunk
Well, you can ignore all the 82x.xxxxx frequencies, as they are Repeater Rx frequencies, with the Repeater Tx frequencies 45 MHz above.numloxx wrote: 456.40000

Likewise, the 456.xxxxx frequencies are the Repeater input frequencies, and so are of little use to scanner users.

Thanks Comint.
Re: Perth Airport Digital Trunk
There have been some posts on these Forums about TETRA in use at the Airport, and as these frequencies are licensed to Comsource International Pty Ltd, a major supplier of TETRA systems in Western Australia, they are probably now been used for TETRA.numloxx wrote: 865.46250

Unfortunately, the Squelch circuit of most scanners does not respond to TETRA signals, so you would have to check each frequency with 'open squelch', to determine if the signal can be 'heard' at your location.
There is currently no scanner available that will decode TETRA signals.

AFAIK encryption is routinely used on TETRA networks, anyway.Comint wrote: There is currently no scanner available that will decode TETRA signals.

Re: Perth Airport Digital Trunk
Will there ever be a TETRA compatible scanner?? I know for a fact that TETRA is encrypted by default and it is illegal to intercept encrypted transmissions.

Re: Perth Airport Digital Trunk
First up it is not illegal to monitor encrypted transmissions in Australia, the USA yes, but here no.Fitzyyy wrote:Will there ever be a TETRA compatible scanner?? I know for a fact that TETRA is encrypted by default and it is illegal to intercept encrypted transmissions.
And no there will not be a TETRA scanner in the forseeable future, TETRA uses end to end encryption and in this country, two levels of authentication. That alone makes the chances slim, and while TETRA is an open protocol, it is highly unlikely that a licence would be granted to a scanner manufacturer to build a scanner that could beat what is a major selling point of the system, transmission security.

Sorry about that! I've been upgrading various machines on the network, so there have been a couple of short outages.numloxx wrote:Link is working for me, however the RFMap is down.
If you wish to learn a little more about the technical details behind TETRA, have a look at: http://wiki.spench.net/wiki/TETRA
Let me know if there's someting else I should add there!
