Change the settings. If your camera has scene modes, select sport or something similar. If you are feeling more adventurous and your camera allows, set the iso high. Burst is ok too, but if its anything like mine, the burst is actually pretty slow and you'll end up with one shot either side
As long as you're the passenger, you might want to try panning on the subject. Bit hard to do if you are driving. If that is the case I tend to leave the camera on the dash and just take a really hi res wide angle shot and then crop and zoom later. Not perfect but normally everything is in focus.
