History: Leederville Fire Station

Post by written_ficton »

Am I right to think that back in the good ol'e days there was a Fire Station on McCourt St, West Leederville. There is a cracking of a building here, old style with two bays with the residential part ontop of the fire station [similar to what we see in the US]

Could anyone provide information regarding this station? Now house's a building company.

Okay, I've been doing some digging and found that it is an old fire station. Opened in 1927 closed???

Before the station was built on McCourt street the old Fire Station was built on 65 Kimberley Street, West Leederville and records state that it was in operation in 1914.

Contact the UFUWA - they have a number of firies who are delving into the history of various stations. They're in the old North Perth Fire Station.
