8 weeks? it took the police years to decide and put in place a digital network. and its taking fesa longer for their 164mhz analouge network. have they already got it rolled out and are just waiting to flick the switch or what?

To be fair, both the Police and FESA radio networks are far more complex and wide-reaching. Also, just 'coz there hasn't been any public communication about it, doesn't mean they haven't been working on it for some time...

72XLT isn't a digital scanner so you won't even hear them anymore :)
"VKI, NJ050 will you be attending the job?"
"Negative VKI, my desk is bolted to the floor".

Id say turbo and acesap would definatley be in the know.

With no doubt a media storey about the change over will be done on one off the news channels or a storey in the paper.

Have a look at ACMA online frequency database: a string of new licences were issued to SJA in late July, frequencies still in the 412-415 Mhz range. Maybe for a new network?

I think you could be right. The new channels have the emission designator 10K1F3E which is narrowband FM. Their existing analogue channels are 16K0F3E.

Heard from an ambo today that the team leaders vehicles are fitted out with the new gear but so far no ambulances are.
