I'm getting confused here and I bet i'm not the only one.

The one I was listening was on ch34 and was out near Perry Lakes and then went down towards the coast and VKI abruptly told Polair61 to cease following the bike on Pearl Pde in Scarborough. He then said he was returning to ch21 and Jandakot. I think Millsy said this one started back on Stock road would make sense as AV208 was involved.

This one Fozzy is talking about I don't think is the same one as this topic.

The one I'm talking about didn't go anywhere near Osborne Park, Karrinyup, Watermans Bay and Duncraig.

This one also cracks a mention on the media release website.

Seems a bit strange was Polair in 2 chases last night involving motor-bikes at the same time?

G'day Fozzy,

Yes their is, unless things have changed dramatically since I left in 2001.

Tom
Well things have quite clearly changed. I run people up on a daily basis. Police and others.

The system gives no indication of wether that person is a Civillian or a Police officer. The only way you would know is if you knew the person by name.

I wouldnt have said it if it wasnt factual

I have heard an occupation being transmitted several times.

What you are suggesting is corruption. I think the Police officers or Police staff that read this forum may be quite offended the suggestion.

Personally if I was put in the situatuion of a work mate being 5 or 10 ks over I would prolly let it go. The reality of it is if you as a general member of the public are pulled over and are fair and listen to the officer and dont be a smart arse you will prolly get let off to! Just think of all the other shit Officers have to deal with everyday! I am sure you have all turned a blind eye to a workmate or a friend doing something illegal at some stage.

Wake up and get back into the real world!
Fozzy, Are you trying to say that speeding is ok for an off-duty police officer? Speeding is speeding, and if he is over the limit, Police or not - Throw the book at em'

Im not saying its ok for anyone.

I do it occasionally and I am not going to lie about it. Personally if you say you never speed or have never ever sped I think your a lair or in a serious state of disbelief.

I am simply saying that if it came down to my judgment I would let a work colleague go if it was a minor offence. Everyone on this board would have done something illegal in there life or at least seen someone do it and not do anything about it.

In saying that. I have been pulled over for speeding before (When I do it I accept that it is wrong and there are consequences) I was more than 10 kmph over the limit but less than 15. The copper came up to me and asked why I was speeding I gave him my answer and then we got chatting about a few other things (I have a modified car) and he said well in the future slow down abit hey and let me off. It all comes down to good governance and judgment of the officer.

If you are anal retentive about it you are probably a traffic cop.

I still have my full license and have never lost any points from it and I have had one speeding fine in my life which was a 50 dollar fine and no points.

What it comes down to it there is a time and a place for everything and if you pick the wrong time and place that’s all well and good you accept the consequences.

The harsh reality is it only take 2 or 3 seconds of not looking at your Speedo to speed and I would be willing to bet allot of money on the fact everyone here has done it at least once. So what you’re saying about throwing the book is a pretty hard fact to enforce and the stance would have to be taken with every law. What about Speedo error? Manufacturers state up to a 10% margin of error in Speedos. THATS UP TO 11 KPH with out state limit! How can you prove that the persons Speedo is accurate? Im not going to argue the point. I just think if you are 100% book everyone everywhere you have bad judgment and poor policing skills.

It is just not feesable to be 100% by the book. Try being a country cop for 20 years and see how your attitude to policing might change.

Don't go on saying that I am a liar - ofcourse - I got done going 10 k's over - Going to hospital to see a sick family member 6 months ago... I did admit that it was wrong...I Not once did i ever say "I have never sped in my whole life" - I was just mearly putting the case forward - I was only refering it towards of-duty members...please check your facts..before you jump the gun.

Hang on

did you read my first post. I think I said something in there about about cops would let most people go for 5-10 kph over the limit.

I wasnt referring to just off duty police either..

I was basically saying whats good for the goose is good for the gander.

I understand there is cops out there that have pet hates about all different laws.

But in my experience of the Police (23) years most cops treat people equally if he would let his mate off for 10kph he would let joe bloggs off for 10kph.

That was the point I was making. Fairness and good Judgement

Hmm that sounds right on doogues - but - If it is an off duty member - shouldn't they nab him for speeding???? He should be setting the example because he's enforcing the law when he is on duty for others not to speed .... so yeah... *shrugs*

Where are your facts for agreeing with Doogues in the first place??????? Lets admit it, a pretty wild allegation.
