Haven't seen a Multanova on the road to or from work for ages, up until Wednesday. Then noticed 2 Wednesday, 1 Thursday and 1 Friday.
I guess the 24hr thing is back in? I hope so; things are getting silly on West Coast Highway south of Ob City. Noticed amphometers in several places as well

(Ahh, so that's what they call the rubber hose car counting thingos )
As far as I know, they don't use them here anymore to detect speeders, only for statistics.

Re: Speed cameras
It is plausible that a signal could be abstracted from the unit and sent to a recording device as a trigger to record an image which could be later used to identify if a vehicle has a blown headlamp.vk6hgr wrote:robbage wrote: As far as I know, they don't use them here anymore to detect speeders, only for statistics.

Re: Speed cameras
Last time I saw a manned one was the other side of Port Augusta when I drove to Adelaide in the mid '80s. The ones I saw on WCH were definitely speed monitoring; twin strips.vk6hgr wrote:For those who are curious about… etc

time to bring up old posts....
speed cameras.... they are thinking of nifty ways to place them on the road to catch speeders? have seen two in recent weeks being placed behind power poles to catch speeders as they pass the multanova and it snaps the rear of the plate.
also they are proposing the new 'cats eye' speed cameras. bit costly don't you think?

Common Spot, Horie Miller Drive, just after the 60 KM speed change (down from 80) sits in behind the sign that displays Parking information for the airport, between grogan road and the access road to gate one, camera on road, ute parked in the trees, i watched him for 5 mins one day before starting work, woul dhave copped at least 10 cars in that time, he was there a few days in a row, havent seen him for over a week now.

Re: Speed cameras
Saw a sign on East Pde this arvo saying "Anytime, Anywhere" but by the time i realised what it was, I didn't see any camera.
Are they putting just the signs around? Or would it have been a camera?
