ZOE Payne is the sort of person you want around in a crisis - in fact, her gut instinct is to run towards it.
The St John Ambulance cadet leader and Curtin University nursing student never hesitates to help after an accident and always rushes to cries for help.

Not that I have a problem with this, but why would only Cadet leaders get recognised for their efforts and not average first aiders who do just as much as she did?Tyranus wrote:Pride of Australia nomination

I'm just basing my opinion, I think that there are other members in VFAS who hold a less rank - such as Senior First aid etc - and some have done some great and awsome treating of patients, so why do they not get recognised rather, they recognise ones with high rank...??

This has nothing to do with her rank or organisation, she was nominated by her cousin...

Certainly no one is saying that VFAS don't do a good job. I wasn't even aware of these awards, but then if you were there's no problem with getting a mate to nominate you. There's also SES people, VFRS/BFS that could have been nominated too...if you see one coming up that you're eligible for, let me know the details and I'll nominate you, I've seen you at work twicegkoutlis wrote:Not that I have a problem with this, but why would only Cadet leaders get recognised for their efforts and not average first aiders who do just as much as she did?Tyranus wrote:Pride of Australia nomination

Thanks guys - It's not about me at all - I dont want to seem selfish... - I just think there are volunteers in VFAS who don't pull rank out at people to show them whos boss, rather, the number of Resusses they've done, the way some of them go out of their way to care for their patients - and they way they go out of the way to make other members feel welcome and a part of the team...
Sorry, my initial statement was probably mis-worded - but the above i guess is what i really meant to say....
