Hey guys
I was wondering if it's possible to listen in on Military radio channels (not sure of the correct term)
If so, what equipment will i need and where could i purchase it.
I live right next to a airbase and would love to know when the aircraft are going to fly over.
Thanks it advance.

RAAF air frequencies.
Scan between 220MHz and 400MHz. see what else comes up. It's a pretty big chunk though

most "scanners" will cover that band , its VHF , UHF and airbands your looking for, the very popular Uniden's UBC72XLT and UBC92XLT will do the job, but you might like to set up an external arieal, depending on what else you will want to be listening to , i recomend a 6db or 12db base antenna for 477Mhz , it will pick up these RAAF fequncies, but not as well as a antenna tuned for the specific frequencies. the reason i sugest the 477mhz antenna is because they will be cheaper and alot easyer to find than a arieal designed for those frequencies.
put simply, a Uniden UBC72XLT will cover the required frequencies
a 6db UHF CB antenna on a 10 meter high mast will drematicly improve your reception.
