I don't know how to pick up Northam through computer.
I don't know how to pick up northam channel through computer....I don't have a scanner....I thought if I could pick up Perth Metro online...I would be able to pick up Northam through the same means....Is there anyone out there that can give me a link to Northam online scanner? Or directions on how to tune into them online through my computer...I have broadband through satellite dish plonked on me roof.
I'm knew to this scanner stuff

Re: I don't know how to pick up Northam through computer.
You need to plonk an antenna on your roof, plonk a scanner in your den next to your computer, the plonk a lead between the scanner and computer. Then you can go through the internet and listen to your streaming scanner. You need to do this because metro channels are going encrypted so we need something to listen to also.Magilla009 wrote:I don't know how to pick up northam channel through computer....I don't have a scanner....I thought if I could pick up Perth Metro online...I would be able to pick up Northam through the same means....Is there anyone out there that can give me a link to Northam online scanner? Guess I'll be looking at a few big dollars then....A digital scanner is around the $700 to $800 dollar mark aren't they?
Guess it's gunna take me awhile to save that amount especially seeing I'm on a pension.
Cheers Beers....Thanks for the heads up!

Country police will be analogue for the time being, and a digital scanner won't receive the encrypted metro comms anyway, so the expense of a digital scanner isn't necessary.Magilla009 wrote:Guess I'll be looking at a few big dollars then....A digital scanner is around the $700 to $800 dollar mark aren't they?

Thanks for the info folks.
Thankyou to the folks that have steered me in the right direction....Muchly appreciated...
Any ideas how long before the country police change over from analogue then?
And once the police go digital and they encrypt their systems how do we listen to them then??
Cheers Beers Again.

You don't...thats the whole point of the encryption, so that people that are being chased by the police don't know that some coppers have been directed around the corner that they're about to run around.Magilla009 wrote: And once the police go digital and they encrypt their systems how do we listen to them then??

I dare say the country will change over. It would be a very costly exercise to do so.Magilla009 wrote:Thankyou to the folks that have steered me in the right direction....Muchly appreciated...

Don't bother. MATCAD is pointless. Information is filtered by police and time delayed. The media will return to relying on "inside info" and public tip offs.playworth wrote:...we have to steal matcad
