ON THE CHANNEL 10 news tonight NSW ambo service are using an automatic compression device for cpr. You tie it down to the stretcher place it over the patients chest turn it on and it delivers the compressions automatically. Apprantley in the states has increased survival rate by 80% didnt even say what it was called which sucks

Fire Rescue Safety Australia (http://www.frsa.com.au) stock it. It was on display at Western Rescue last year.

[/quote] id like to see the proof of 80%. Sounds like a pile of crap to me, is this in witnessed arrests and is the patient in a shockable rhythm, if they are asystole to start with then your 80% has gone down the crapper.
is it easy to apply and what happens in the case of user error, do they get sued because they thought the device was on correctly or didnt notice that it had loosened because they were focusing on maintaining an airway. sounds like a can of worms are about to be opend

That's an accident waiting to happen.... - And how does this machine expect to stop if and when the person regains conciousness??? hmmm - I think i'll stay to the manual method of 30:2
