The SJA radio system is actually linked together in a big network covering the entire metro area. The radios in the ambos 'vote' for the strongest repeater in the area they happen to be at the time.

The info you hear on the frequency you listen to is the same for the entire network, which I think goes from around Joondalup, east almost to Toodyay and south past Rockingham.

The actual job data itself goes over a MDT (mobile data terminal) on a seperate frequency so except for the rare occasion that system goes down, we can't hear the actual jobs they are dispatched to.

The PDF document above doesn't mention where the repeaters are, so your best bet might be to program them all in and scan through them looking for the one that gives you the best signal strength.

The other way would be to do a search on the ACA's website, but this is probably going to take you a while. Once you've seen the number of records assigned to St John Ambulance WA, you'll run away in fright :-)

Try 413.350: the repeater located at Fremantle Hospital. I recall when I lived in Freo this was a good signal.

Try 412.475: the repeater's on (I think) the Channel Ten tower at Carmel and would be a good line of sight back to that area.

The best thing to do would be to program in all the frequencies from the list into a bank on your scanner and just scan that bank for a while. You'll eventually find the channel that works for your area.
