The XR6T will run on regular unleaded. The premium spec is only a manufacturers recomendation. Same as when we had the GenIII, the series one was meant to run on premium but manufacturers can do a lot with a stroke of a pen.
Re Highway Patrol, it has existed in various forms in WAP for many years. The name is more used as "brand" advertising rather than any substance these days. Back in the days of Perth Traffic Branch there was actually a section titled "Highway Patrol". Unlike current versions they actually did just patrol country highways within a couple of hundred kilometre radius of Perth. Funny thing how things turn full circle, what next Armed Robbery Squad and VCU
Also the first of the white marked SV6's are starting to rollout in country areas.
Same here some of our cars are doing about 5000 every 10 days. Nothing wrong with the VE SV6 though, great looking car that handles well but you just can't argue with horsepower......

New VE SV6 runs 18 inchs wheels to but as you say you cant argue with horsepower.
195kw SV6 -V- 245kw XR6T
Its like when we went from series 1 VT commodore 179KW to 220kw series 2 VT commodore 220kw
Yeah I remember. The funniest thing was all those idiots that bought a 215kw GTS-R then whinged a couple of months later when an exec comm with a gen III would blow their doors off
Some even had the gall to write letters to motoring mags, despite being given 18 months warning the old cast iron 5.0 was on the way out. Another example of how effective anti-idiot legislation would overcrowd the justice system

Yeah people were pretty dark having spent $65 grand on a HSV Senator top of the range, 5.7 litre V8 215kw and then being beaten by a $28000 standard gen 3 v8 commodore
thats why you always wait and see what the series 2 version has to offer
Although the 215 kws GTSR were awesome, yellow XU3 colour and only 85 made (20 to New Zealand). They still fetch $40 grand now days for a good example low kms.
