Then yeah, looks like a great little combo to whack into a fourbie.
But there is a caveat:
Other than SES and UHF WAERN, there is not much else to listen to on the 400-520MHz spectrum other than taxis, private business comms and others.
All the interesting comms go down on VHF in regards to DFES.

Thats what I thought. Most of the DFES command channels are fairly low range from memory.

Yes if you are going to use it as a scanner there is only that selection, DFES high band VHF is all around 163-164Mhz which you'll need a dedicated scanner for. The old mid band is lower again.
