Could someone, in a nutshell give a newbie an quick insite as to how the channels go together, and how to listen.. I have seen the term "duplex" used but am not sold on the fact that it is true "duplex" and is rather "semi-duplex".
Channels are described in terms of what's happening at the base station. Repeater stations are true duplex so the channels are called duplex channels <shrug>
Thanks for the reply. I have seen the guide now and after seeing a DFES wall map with repeater channels and locations I am making more sense of it.
The two didn't really match but I'll plug away at it and report progress here!
My list was made by (mostly) trawling through the ACMA database and by listening so although I'm sure I've got all the command channels, they probably officially go by different names.
Also, although 6AR and 6IP are technically separate networks and they can delink them from each other, I haven't heard them do it in many years. Unless they do I don't know what WAERN repeater belongs to which net so I just made one big list
I have gathered a bunch of incident channels for the comms plans (MCE1, etc) and I'll add them soon.
Iv used warsug for a number of years so it's only fair to give back to a great site.

They did this recently when one was clogged up with someone's pressure switch held down.
They seemingly split between the new/old system as FRS could be heard on mid band and BFB on High band channels. The same operator acted as both and could be heard on both, but FRS and BFB couldn't hear each other and spoke over the top of each on a number of occasions. It was like that for the entire day.
