Yeah, it can be frustrating, but having 6AR on the southwest feed in summer is too noisy. What I do is if I want to listen to two streams at the same time I use two different apps :)

The theory though is that you listen in on the 6AR feed and then if an 'interesting' event starts, switch to the SW DFES feed for the fireground channels.

The DFES UHF (Right) channel now also has Northam (noisy) and south-east (Lima) area police from ch11.
Yeah that's what I do. Obviously when I am on my PC I just have both up. Like I said I understand why you don't run 6AR on Southwest scanner during summer :)

Loving getting a bit of cops, when the weather conditions are OK I guess. Seem to only get them at night. Curious - Do you still monitor the Metro Analogue frequencies in case something comes over them at all? Or have they been completely shutdown and inoperable?

We've been discussing this over in the WAPOL analogue thread... Apart from these mysterious new ch65 and 66 channels it's reasonable to assume that there's no more analogue WAPOL. It's only a matter of time before country areas are digital too.

I have a radio in search and capture mode on the traditional 64 channel block. Nothing. Will have a digital scanner doing the same during NYE and will see what happens.

Yeah I knew it's pretty much dead, wasn't sure if the analogue system was still available for backup or not, and if it was if anyone was even scanning for it anymore :)

On a completely separate note - have you considered putting the main SJA channel in with the 6AR feed?

SJA has been digital encrypted for ages now?

Yep :(

Luckily DFES won't be digital for another year. You can still listen to us :)

To be fair, not much is really said over the SJA radio network - Unlike the DFES system 99% of information is passed through Mobile Phones and Ambicad System.

Noticed that. Can't hear what they say, but they don't say very much. Even with the limited country WAPOL I can hear, it's like that too- everything is on CAD.

Hmm. Someone's truck is x-band repeating the command channel onto ES A UHF.

I think the 6AR/6IP network might be having a few issues today with repeater linking.

Listening to the online stream, I'm hearing the comcen and some appliances, but not others. Sounds like some of the repeater-to-repeater links might be down but repeater-to-comcen still up. That's my guess anyway.

How weird.

If it's still doing it when I get home, I'll flick the stream from ch380 to ch57 or ch25.

I wonder if they've de-linked 6AR and 6IP? That's the other possibility.

Nafenn is monitoring both 205 and 380 and can hear everything between the two of them. Sounds like the network's split somewhere coz it's the same operator on both channels and she's having a lot of trouble (more than usual at least) with people talking over the top of each other.

Can't recall the last time that it has been that bad with people talking over the top of each other

Have set up a couple of receivers on WAERN and there's a significant delay in audio between the repeaters, which probably explains everyone talking over the top of each other (the local repeater sounds like it's quiet but someone else has already started talking)
