But the question's gonna be asked... do any amateurs actually use 2300Mhz?

Same here. Although I do admit, I get the distinct feeling that I'm being "consulted with" about a decision that's pretty much a done deal... Maybe I'm just turning into a cynicrobbage wrote:I got a two page letter from ACMA today regarding this

Are they going to lower ham license fee's when they steal frequencys $20 a year would be nice when I get my license as $70 seems a rip off.

Re: ACMA plots amateur radio band harvest for LTE
Licence fees tend to go up by around a dollar per year. As for the thought that it's a "rip off", I guess it depends on your perspective.new f calls wrote:Are they going to lower ham license fee's when they steal frequencys $20 a year would be nice when I get my license as $70 seems a rip off.
This is the entire radiofrequency spectrum as used in Australia:

This is how much of that spectrum amateurs get to use:

Considering that commercial entities can be charged many hundreds, even into the thousands of dollars for a single spot frequency per year, $70 or so for amateurs doesn't seem so bad in comparison...

I just paid $28 for my licence and $45 tax. What's that... around 160% ?
