Re: Perth CLP
Nice photos & nice looking unit. Whilst i do understand why they went for the smaller 6x4 chassis (tight city streets) i would have thought FESA would be looking at "higher" bronto's than the F32. Qld, NSW & ACT have F44's & VIC,SA have F42's. I did read something on the Press Release for this unit last year that FESA would be spending $3-4 million on arial appliances in the next couple of years. It wasn't very specific as to mean new ones (extra) or new ones (replacement)Maybe they should have a look at the new CFA 6x4's with the snozzles. Matt you should upload your photos of them to this site so everyone can see what what a brilliant looking unit they are!

Matt - Sorry to hijack your thread but to show hold3n and others how the Ariels work. Usually when they are requested a HP is turned out to 'be the pump' for the arial, or in this case a Ziggler Portable Pump / MP is hooked up and fed through the arial and is controled by the dude on the bottom of the ladder

Re: Perth CLP
Pressure required all comes down to the pressure needed at the top of the platform. Pressure is lost for every 1m rise that water is pumped and for each length of hose it needs to go through. I think it is a pressure loss of 0.1 bar for every metre rise and 0.1 bar for every 30m length of 60mm. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I found the easiest way to calculate is give them the pressure required for the job and add a little extra to compensate. They start using the hand signals if they want more or less. For the CLP and TTL that why a heavy pump is sent to get the pressure for the upwards rise (more litre pumped /min = more pressure)hold3n wrote:How much bar pressure? sure would need atleast 15----
