G'day All,

Have been playing around with an RX SGATE setup over the weekend. By all accounts it seems to be receiving very well...

We are organising another bulk order of APRS items from Argent Data if anybody wants to jump on the band wagon. Some items have a price drop if we get numbers, plus we share the freight cost. PM me.

Depends on which version of the SSID recommendation list you look at. The most recent one I can find says -5 is unspecified. It's only a recommendation™

Ham College's VK6RIB information beacon is now on APRS. Look for the question mark symbol labelled "145.575rx" (see aprs.fi here)
This should come up on APRS-enabled radios and work with the QSY button (except for the FTM-350 which doesn't decode frequency objects apparently)
Anybody with a Kenwood can check this works? (probably VX-8 as well)

We are trialling some APRS digipeaters and i-gates on 70cm. If you have the gear to try it out, give it a go. The frequency is 439.100 MHz at 1200 baud.
So far there is VK6LD-4 igate and VK6GHZ-1 digipeater in the south east, VK6UFO-4 igate/digipeater (part time) north east and VK6RN-1 digipeater west (VK6RN-3 2m offline for the moment).
These may disappear, change or be added to at any time. We probably need a full-time 70cm digi in the northern or n.w. suburbs as well.

Let us know how you go.

Hi All,

Just a heads up.
The paperwork has been started to get the next instalment for the APRS network happening.
The site is at Ghooli. About 5 kms east of Southern Cross.
Very high site and should talk back to VK6RKN-3.
Config this time will be an OT3m, Simoco SRM9000 and a Diamond F23 at about 10m's.

Thats the design anyway.
