AX callsigns

Folks,

Just a reminder to all amateurs - especially those new to the hobby - that the Amateur LCD allows us to operate with AX callsigns instead of VK on three days a year - 26th Jan (Australia Day), 25th Apr (ANZAC Day) and 17th May (World Telecommunications Day).

Australia Day isn't far away, so if your callsign is normally VK6QQQ then on that day you can change to AX6QQQ if you wish. It's not compulsory, it's entirely optional, but it's something a bit different and fun.

:)

My APRS I-gate and tracker will be participating.

(They have no choice in the matter. I programmed them to. :P )

You wont hear a lot of amateurs on VHF using it. The HF DX guys give it a good work out.
I will be on HF from about 4ish for a few hours calling CQDX with it.
