It's not connected at the moment. No idea if it will be again. Shouldn't be hard at that site, though. Have you tried getting into the repeater yet?

Hi Guys,

VK6RLM (146.750) is running on a higher antenna on the mast so you should get a little better range.

Could get it s3 mobile in Mt Helena this afternoon but cant hit it from my QTH in Chidlow.

The 70cm Portable Repeater has been delegated to a lower part of the mast so it should have less coverage.

When time permits i will get Echolink running again (server needs a new raid card) and also the WIRES link once i get the hardware.

Enjoy!

Thanks Danny.. I heard you and Duncan tuning and testing in the wee hours. I think the guys that were using RPT in the evenings noticed the change of antenna.. they moved back to RVP because one couldn't get into it any more. Oh well, can't please everyone. RLM sounds heaps better than it did shortly after the 're-opening'. Thanks for all your efforts. I wouldn't might being on some of the repeater working bees. I don't know much about repeaters but I can drive a soldering iron and can usually fix anything if I have a big enough hammer.

Thanks robbage,

I guess that we forget that the portable is just that, a portable repeater!

Think it needs to do a trip around the place to check out some other parts of VK6 and do what it was designed to do!!

Nah the tower monkey is away.

Its just on the mid mounted vertical antenna. The portable is now on the lowest antenna.

Cheers for the info Danny,

The repeater sounded fine yesterday when I was talking with you and Duncan, all three of us seemed to be getting in with no trouble at all and the audio sounded fine.

Another hillbilly! :D :smt041

Danny - I've been able to get it fine from home in Mt Helena, though it's a bit hit and miss when mobile through Stoneville and Mundaring. I'll try it again this evening and let you know how it goes.
