Yaesu is actually the Japanese word for wheel chock...!
I'll remember that if I ever hear of anyone 'bricking' their radio...

Speaking of the FTM-350R... has anyone got one yet, or know of anyone that does? Any comments?

Just a comment.. for the price you can buy two FT-7900 from Andrews and have change. You 'd have to really want APRS, stereo broadcast, stereo line input, barometer and optional Bluetooth. Actually, sounds pretty good :? I wonder if it's DIN size.

Don't forget you have to buy the optional GPS for the FTM 350r as well if you want APRS so that makes it less appealing.

Good point, the PDF manual gives no indication if you can plug a standard NMEA 0183 RS232 GPS in, so probably not. Actually the PDF manual doesn't even show the rear end of the radio.
