I do, it has UHF plugs on it so you'll need adapters.

Note: Just split this and created another thread as the repeater coverage thread was headed off topic because of yours truly...again  before long I'll be seeing the 2 admins at the HARG and be getting my hands smacked!

Ok thanks meg, if I can borrow it off you when i'm doing my big mounts and runs of cable that would be great! I'm just going to use the other RG58 with BNC's for my scanner.

You're on mast duty... and the rotator needs a good dusting. And that's for the promotion! :)

Well went and had a look at the tower...and met Ivan VK6FIVN it's not a windy up/down mast such as at the harg, it's a fixed sectional mast with each section being a couple of metres or there abouts in length. so I should be able to put 2 or 3 sections together without a problem and hopefully the shire will let me do 4 or 5. If I remember correctly there's about 6 sections all up. Looks in pretty good nick apparently was once upon a time destined for an oil/gas rig. There's a couple of slight bends but otherwise it's not bad.
I'll pick it up tomorrow evening. Need to check heights with the shire though, so no assembling just yet :(. Then there's the decision of things like when do I get the rotator etc. but first things first, tower!

How do you get to the top? Lower it or climb it?

lower/tilt the bottom has a plate with a hinge setup.
Restrictions are: Not higher than 5m and the yagi's maximum diameter is 1.5m.
Not too sure on the height of our roof, so might have to do some long way round working.

You might want to read through this case which was won by an amateur against his council a few years ago for a much higher mast - could be useful as a precedent even though it was in Vic.

This is as good a place as any ... don't forget to batten down your antennae this evening. Storm warning etc. Thanks meg for reminding me, now that I have something to batten down.
