Starts the last Tuesday in July - see you there! :P

And it's not hard to pass if you know the material ;) The course is designed to build on what you learned in Standard level. So all the basic stuff about resistors and current and capacitors and stuff like that will be mentioned briefly, so we can focus most of our energies on the stuff that's new.

G'day Derek,

I also had a question with a valve in the circuit, but you didn't need to know how the valve works to answer it. I think that was just a kipper.

Well done Ron. Good to see such enthusiasm for a "dying hobby" (not my words)
You can still pass the examine without ANY recall for oscillator theory
I wonder if the new callsign will hit the database before new year.
Now you need an APRS tracker :-)

Dying Hobby ... ? Really ... ?

robbage wrote: You can still pass the examine without ANY recall for oscillator theory
You are right Rob, I didn't get any questions on oscillators ... instead I have got one on flux capacitors :smt072 hahahaha ... just kidding ... !
robbage wrote:

Yes good question ... that depends on whether I passed the paper works or not :smt076
When we did the Foundation one of the guys I know got his paper works sent with a callsign but not appeared on the online database ... and he needed to sort it out with ACMA and it took a while for them to do that ...
robbage wrote: Now you need an APRS tracker :-)
Yeah ... I am sort of reluctant to broadcast my where about to people I don't know ... but it's interesting technology though ... :smt009
