Congrats to Nosferatu. That was a quick trip from zero to full callsign.

Thank's Rob for that ... I really enjoyed the Advanced Course at Ham College ... I guess I just did it while I had the energy to do it ...

I became VK6DF October last year. I upgraded from the Standard license with the previous call of VK6NDT (which i originally got as a Novice with 10wpm back in 02)

I didnt go down the usual path but upgraded by doing the RPL (recognition of Prior Learning) being a Communications Tech for 10yrs and having extensive knowledge, experience and qualifications in Radio Communications it was pretty easy to upgrade and i did not have to do any Practical either.

Well, the 2012 Advanced Course starts again next week, so hopefully there'll be a bit of activity in this thread. I think there's six people registered for the course so far...

Your post just above from July, apparently there are some new comers? Just wondering how they all went and who they might be.

Ah ok gotcha. As Robbage says, the course goes for about five months, one night per week so we're mid-way-ish through. Of the course participants, one is upgrading from Standard, one from Foundation I think, and another three or four are coming straight in from Advanced (so they need to do three exams by the end of it all, the Advanced theory, the Regs and a practical. They're going to be busy!)
