Re: Standard Licence

Post by Zebedee »

So ... as the Standard course progresses, we're starting to get into the interesting stuff ... transistors, FETs, etc. ;)

The Regs exam is imminent, hopefully all the in-class mock-exams are giving people a feel for what the real thing will be like...

As has been said before in this thread, the key things to remember when studying for a Standard licence is to make sure you complete the homework exercises each week (trying to do so without reference to the manual is generally better, see how much you can do without assistance), and taking an hour or two each week to go back through previous sections and brush up on some of the concepts...

Once Regs is out the way, it'll be full steam ahead into the juicy stuff of the radio and electronics theory! ;)

Good luck to all the future standard calls doing their regs exam tomorrow. May the electromagnetic force be with you.

Congrats to all. So Rob does this mean we're back to the waiting game for your callsign to change? :P or is there some other thing you have to prove first?

Thats the easy exam out the way, a couple of hours study each week will see a similar result in the theory exam.
