20m is most active for me (north west W.A.) alot of russia, europe and asia on a regular basis and a bit of USA coming though.
That was until today, when my tower took a direct hit from lighting and took out my 10m 1/2wave vertical and inverted v dipole (balun) and my Yaesu ft 757gx.
So my Dx'ing days are over temporarily.

40m is usually full of our northerly neighbors and 80m is usually full of nothing but static for me, around s9.(probably everyones plasma screens and wireless modems).

I just put up a wire antenna yesterday and I'm receiving a lot of DX on 20m. None of them have heard me yet, though :(

Turn off all your low power long-life globes and see if that reduces the noise.

:-) Those globes are notorious. There was an article on the WIA news a few weeks back about how to modify one for use on 80 metres

VK6*** returning. Yeah I'm currently using a ****** ***** for a rig, nice bit of kit, and for an antenna I'm using a power saving light globe over.

Perhaps it would be a better idea to start a new thread on noise and leave this one for DX spots ?
