Another way to see if an inversion is present is to check the BOM radar
http://mirror.bom.gov.au/products/IDR123.shtml
If it shows showers way out to sea but nothing is forecast fair chance is there will be ducting.

Mt Barker S9, Mt Willy S7, Harvey S4
Cataby, Saddleback, Northam full needle.
New Albany 70cm repeater 6RAL coming in as well. Nothing on S meter but quite readable =D> You need to turn off tone so the Wannaroo repeater doesn't fire.

I just worked a Bunbury station via Mt Barker, the locals must still be in bed.

Yeah, I just caught the last 10 seconds. Your audio is very low. I can pick up what I assume is the Mt Barker 70cm beacon on 432.565 which is 1k up from the TX frequency...

Well done Robbage and thanks for the report. The VK6RAL 70cm repeater has a distinctive courtesy beep tone sequence on the tail, so you'll know you're keying it.
I'm in Perth this weekend so unfortunately missed the opening.

I'll keep an ear out for it. Bummer about the shared frequency though...
