Maybe they do other things as well. What part do you think is not legal? They could also drive there and look at the address.liam wrote:Hi everyone.

well appart from sending parcel bombs just the fact that they are looking up the address and sticking thier noise in other peoples bussiness but anyway, just couriouse,
Appart from that ive heard that you can apply to have it so your calsign cant be looked up or you can get a PO BOX address.
Thanks anyway Robbage I really appreciate it
althought the people on this forum will never find out what my callsign is

Re: looking up peoples callsigns on the register
well, though it's disconnected from the forum, they could also just use a scanner to hear your callsign, look it up etc.
There's always people sticking their noses where they're not wanted. If they take it further than idle curiosity though, then there's law enforcement...

Re: looking up peoples callsigns on the register
The application for equipment licence has a section for postal address. You missed the first chance! You can notify ACMA of a change of address and sort it out that way. Put your QTH as your address you transmit from (required) and a PO box or or work address as the postal address.liam wrote:well appart from sending parcel bombs just the fact that they are looking up the address and sticking thier noise in other peoples bussiness but anyway, just couriouse,

Me thinks you are a little paranoid... Even if someone doesn't have your address they can still go tracking!liam wrote:I have an idea of what people are like when it comes to it so to be on the safe side.
